Camilla Julner

It's not about the words on Desire to Inspire. It's all about the eye candy. I could go on about the keen design eye and on the trend styling of Camilla Julner but her work tells the story. And inspiration doesn't always have to come from a complete room. Camilla's vignettes are overflowing for great ideas on colour, juxtaposition, texture. Hey too many words! Enjoy!

More black and white (and grey and lavender)

The other day a reader named Bo sent us this link to a black and white home on a Swedish real estate site. I thought it was a cool pad, but then while perusing the site I came across this home that really got me going. I LOVE the location, the open layout, the fresh colour scheme, the whitewashed wide plank hardwood, the grey trim, the black Smeg, the viewwwwww.......(thx Bo!)

Bobo Olsson

Welcome to the first new post of the new year and I couldn't think of a stronger way to start than with the portfolio of photographer Bobo Olsson. Fabulous rooms captured with such skill. Great eye, great light, interesting angles and composition. Once again a Swedish photographer and a Swedish rep site but Bobo's images are mature, brooding. It's like Scandinavian style on steroids. Big, beefy and rich. Yum!

Mikael Beckman

Not hard to see why Mikael Beckman is one of Sweden's leading stylists. It's great to see a masculine take on the Swedish vibe but still the core ingrtedients are there - white, bright, comfortable and stylish, a touch of vintage, lashings of midcentury classic pieces, an easy confidence. How about that red kitchen? Not for the shrinking violets! Love the recessed display with lighting. Might have to steal that idea.

Straight from the text book on Swedish houses

J. E. N. knows that Kim and I can't resist a good Swedish home. If it's white with pops of colour, hard floor (preferably white or at least a light wood), sleek kitchen, the occasional piece of design classic Scandinavian furniture and a sheepskin somewhere then we're in heaven. So thank you J. E. N. for sending in the link to this townhouse for sale in Saltsjöbad.
