Teeny tiny, white and shiny

Could you live in 2 rooms with a bath? Something as teeny tiny as this 47 square metre apartment in Göteborg? It's white, it's light and of course it's a home styled and for sale through Alvhem Mäkleri & Interiör.  Think modern living meets great bones in a historical building with a great position. Small though, very small. I think I could - if I gave up the husband and the guide dog :)

Dos Family

My twin sister has been bugging me to blog about Dos Family, a blog from Sweden created by Jenny Brandt, Staffan & Isabelle Halling McAllister. After a quick google search I learned several blogs have featured this blog already but I had to jump on this bandwagon after seeing the gorgeous photos on their site (Jenny is a photographer). It's all about everyday families in everyday homes. Brilliant.

Magnus Marding

It's been a bit of a rough week (more on that on Monday), but I'd like to end of the week on a good note. Some photos from the portfolio of one of Sweden's most established international photographers will do quite nicely (and since we're on such a Swedish kick). "Though Magnus Marding is an international photographer in every aspect, there is also a very distinct Nordic touch - a certain cleanness, intimacy, simplicity and timeless yet modern beauty". Exactly.

Martin Cederblad

I was going to title this post "Sweden I have a crush on half your population because they are all so talented and everything is so gorgeous" but .... it was too long and our Swedish readers will write in and say that I am exaggerating (or perhaps not). Another stunning portfolio from another super talented photographer. I'm still in awe of how someone can point a camera and capture a dream. Martin Cederblad can.

Coffee anyone?

Newly opened Kaffeverket (Swedish for The Coffee Works) takes traditional Swedish design and gives it a couple of modern twists. Mikael Abbhagen from design and retail concept agency A-B-D sent us these pictures. “It’s a play with contrasts of materials. From the roughness of Swedish limestone on the counter and tables, to the softness of the velvet drapes and the more modern feeling of bronzed glass and brass walls.” Inspired by the building that dates back to 1905 and wanting to play with classical Swedish colours and materials in order to create a modern design, fellow designer Fredrik Bengtsson added that they wanted to create a modern design with a clear heritage. Certainly gives the big franchises something to aim for. Mine's a Ristretto thanks!
