More black and white (and grey and lavender)

The other day a reader named Bo sent us this link to a black and white home on a Swedish real estate site. I thought it was a cool pad, but then while perusing the site I came across this home that really got me going. I LOVE the location, the open layout, the fresh colour scheme, the whitewashed wide plank hardwood, the grey trim, the black Smeg, the viewwwwww.......(thx Bo!)

I can't get enough of grey in interiors. It's such a beautiful neutral to work with. I painted our living room a great brownish-grey and it's so cozy! I find that lots of colors work with grey - such as this great pairing of lavender and grey - love it!

They have the IKEA kitchen island! Doesn't it look great. We bought the same island for our kitchen (an Old Dutch Colonial by the sea), and I'm lovin' it! I'm not a big fan of IKEA when it comes to furnishings..., but this island, well, I guess I made my point. Upon a closer look, I think they installed an entire IKEA kitche. Great home.

omg, this place is too good...

I came across an article on your blog in one of my mom's old House & Home magazines.
Great blog.
I'll be visiting again!

I loved the bathroom, and the view. But I have to say, sometimes I think the b/w thing is an excuse to be lazy. Not cheap -- not here. Everything of the highest quality, I'm sure the draperies alone would pay my rent and then some. Quality I'll never get my hands on. But possibly, intellectually lazy. Having typed that, I just went back through -- books? The possibility of magazines? No. Sorry.
