Mikael Beckman

Not hard to see why Mikael Beckman is one of Sweden's leading stylists. It's great to see a masculine take on the Swedish vibe but still the core ingrtedients are there - white, bright, comfortable and stylish, a touch of vintage, lashings of midcentury classic pieces, an easy confidence. How about that red kitchen? Not for the shrinking violets! Love the recessed display with lighting. Might have to steal that idea.

Anyone know what the Casala style chairs are in the bottom pic on the left?

Lovely styling Mikael!!!

hillary, clicking on pics to enlarge them slows down the blog, so we've eliminated this with the new blog. they are large enough we think, so if you want larger you'll have to go grab them from the source.

Hey, Hillary! Apparently no enlargement means faster loading -- something had to give on the new site. I miss it, too. But then, I miss rotary phones.

I love the recessed display -- pewter and crystal doodads would look gorgeous. I will never dig the suspended fireplace, I just keep thinking, one stumble... and I know I so would. A blue corner ceramic, or a miniature cast iron mini-victorian, but something I ccould and would grab for balance -- no, thank you. I love the bits of drama, miss it at the back of that one long kitchen, the floor lamp simply doesn't do it. The balance is wonderful.

Actually in this case that is the size of the photos that I was able to grab from the website so even if we had a click on facility with this new platform it would have made no difference with Mikael's work. Can't make an image larger if it is small to begin with ... well we could but it would be blurry and pixelated. Hey Mikael thanks for the email :) Time for a website with big lush photos? :):)
