Thank you Thomas for sending us this link (via Fastighetsbryån) to this wonderful church conversion currently for sale in Sweden. On a frosty winter day it looks absolutely magical! Despite only having a couple of rooms, the ceiling height and lightness makes it appear so much larger. Yes, living in a converted church like this is still my dream. And this one may now have topped the list as my favourite.
Simple yet stylish with a monochromatic palette warmed by the earthiness of wood and splashes of colour, this lakeside home, again by Andrew Brown, has a more relaxed, holiday home feel than the mid-century treehouse of my previous post. This is a waterside family home, beautiful yet practical, the perfect getaway from the clamour of city life.
Another Ballroom is a shop located in Copenhagen, that carries a select mix of 20th century handmade and remade furniture, contemporary design and art, alongside with carefully chosen vintage Moroccan rugs all created by a carefully curated group of talented artists and designers. The shops' items are showcased in the home of the founder, Maj Kornum and photographed by Maria Sattrup. Take note shop owners! This is how you style your products. I want one of everthing!
Vancouver based interior design firm Hazel + Brown is new-to-me and certainly one I will be keeping my eye on. Melanie and Ben Finkleman have taken a white modern box and given it a simple, relaxed yet chic makeover with some really cool artwork, bits of bright colour accents and some mid-century modern classic furnishings. The result is really youthful and energizing.
Originally built in 1951 by Edwin Pfluger, this midcentury modern home in Austin was remodeled and is now a hip pad that is far from a blast from the past. From the fantastic landscaping to the bright all-white kitchen, this home has it all. Designed by Matt Garcia Design.
