White and bright and a pure delight. A super cute apartment by Magdalena Adamus and her design team at LOFT. This creative practice was responsible for the sensitive yet innovative renovation of yesterday's Salvinia Lodge. A visit to the LOFT website is a must. Hot Polish design.
Now here's a different take on Swedish white. A huge loft in Stockholm with soaring ceilings, skylights to dream about, a bookcase that makes my heart sing and a roaring fireplace. Eclectic is definitely the vibe here. Contemporary married with fine antiques, throw in tribal pieces and oriental finds, Scandi design and open plan on a grand scale and I'm hooked. Wouldn't you love to snoop through the bookcase, pick up the knick knacks and turn them over, ask to crank the stereo way up. It may not be the place you'd want to make your home but don't you just want to party! Oh imagine ... night time, low light, fire burning, wine in hand and favourite music ... and a couple of dozen of your best friends. For sale here. (Thanks for the link Daniela!)
Interior stylists are jacks (or should that be jills) of all trades. They need imagination, creativity, lashings of DIY nous. Fearless with colour, queens (or should that be kings) of quirky. Not only on trend they often set them but always they create just what their client wants which is always just what we never realised we are craving in our lives, our wardrobes and our homes. Sidsel Zachariassen of Sidsel Z has that beautiful boho scandi vibe we can't get enough of at the moment but mixes it up with the saturated colour bursts we have come to expect from Danish styling. Her work is real and personal. I want to curl up on that porch, whip up a cook's dream in her kitchens and pad across white, white floors in her homes. Nothing is overly precious but always beautiful.
I know! I know! Bad title but cool home. Nothing pretentious or stuffy. Nothing precious or über cool. Just a lovely inviting apartment in one of Gothenburg's oldest Landshövdingehus. Three things I really love ... the limed floor as opposed to the white painted floors we are used to seeing in Swedish homes, the as usual stunning kakelugn (tiled stove) and the upstairs bedroom retreat but you'll have to wait until after the jump for that one. What a week! I never want to go through one like it again! I had quite a health scare this week that included urgent CT scans, enough blood tests to turn me into a pincushion and a nervous wait for results. Good news and not so good news. Good news is it is not the worse case scenario. Not so good news is it is still serious but I have Doctor Gorgeous (how unprofessional of me but hubba hubba) working hard to get me well. Pills, rest, no stress and lifestyle changes ... goodie! So please forgive me if this is a quickie stalking post before heading back to bed. I know I could get some much needed rest in this beach house at Avalon, Sydney. Not quite my style but enough gorgeous knick knacks to calmly rearrange. I find rearranging almost zen like. Maybe the good doctor makes house calls. No? I guess I am supposed to rest.
