White, bright and not a Scandinavian in sight. Interior designer Magdalena Keck hails from New York but her work turns its back on the Big Apple glam and looks inwards to hearth and home. It's clean lined, simple but well considered. Her colour palette is restrained but all the better to provide respite from the bustle and clash of everyday New York life like this Greenwich Village pied à terre, a wonderful retreat.
My previous post of Sera's work was all about white. This time it's a mixture - in black, bright and a few extras I could not resist.
It's been a long time since we've featured the work of interior designer Sera Hersham-Loftus (way back here and here). Sera's designs are unlike those of any other designer I have ever come across. She is the queen of the boudoir look - seductive, glam, romantic and best of all, completely over-the-top. The following is a home in her portfolio she has dubbed The White House and I fell in love with it. It's a bit more subdued than her typical designs and far more realistic and achievable. (Later on today - darker, brighter spaces by Sera)
Not your usual Scandi boho apartment. Not the shabby chic meets edgy urban meets industrial with mid century splashed with neon bright colour / black, grey and wood with square tiles in kitchen and bathroom. (Have I left out any Scandi combinations?) Yes it's white but think easy elegance. Gustavian. Relaxed traditional. Old world, old money but in a bijou modern apartment. Not your ordinary everyday Scandi boho but instantly recognisable a Swedish none the less. Not so shabby at all. Link here.
This is the first of 2 posts I have for you today. There is such a huge difference in the mood of a space depending on the colour scheme used...whether it be light or dark. This space is all about white and beige. Classic and French-inspired. The perfect space for a bookworm (although it could use some work - some of the furnishings are just plain icky).
