Here is another breathtaking project designed by interior designer Sarah Lavoine. It is pretty obvious that this Parisian apartment is the home of an art collector. Most people who design spaces for art collectors leave the walls white. NOT SARAH! She used teal, bright yellow and black - all perfectly suited for the spaces and the artwork they hold. Jaw-dropping results once again.
Imagine meeting a modelling legend, a woman who defined a style, an era. Imagine shooting her in her amazing home. Imagine having the talent to capture that larger than life personality in that larger than life home. Don't imagine. This is what it looks like. To me it is all about how San Francisco interior designer Tineke Triggs and her design team use confident colour, sophisticated layering and careful consideration of the space. The first few photos are of the ADFL studio. The colour is "kapow", the textures lush. Love the brick wall with the shelf for book display. May just have to use that in my own home. Don't miss the Mill Valley family home after the jump. Earthy, casual, creative. A wonderful family space.
If colour is contagious then I'm in trouble. These fun rooms are infectious and fabulous. If you are starting to think all white scandi rooms are anaemic and washed out then a colour infusion is just what you might need. Spin the colour wheel and see where it lands. If interior designer Katie Rosenfeld has anything to do with it then it will always be a winner.
