With flying colours

A big thanks to Åsa for sending us the link to this INSANE flat for sale in Helsingborg, southern Sweden. This is so atypical of what Swedes do to their homes. We all know they LOVE white...and there is not one spec of white in this apartment (with the exception of the tub and toilet). It must take special people to come up with this, and be able to live here day after day. I sure as hell could not. I would lose my freaking mind. It's just so bizarre. Good luck selling this place!

OMG I love this office!!!

I adore this home office of New Zealand designer and stylist LeeAnn Yare. The colours are phenomenal. LeeAnn is a wallpaper addict so she's filled it with off-cuts and samples she couldn't bear to part with - FUN! The desk is an old door, the filing cabinet was stripped, and the space is filled with vintage treasures. This one HAS to go in my inspiration folder. (via Urbis magazine, photo by Larnie Nicolson)

Sidi Kauki

Run away, far away to an exotic land. To a magical beach and a magical house. To Morocco and Essaouira. To a traditional Dar but one with a difference. Retro and funky, modern and quirky. Bespoke yet family orientated. You'll find me by the open fire with my toes buried in the beni ouarain. Sidi Kauki via Airspace locations.

Ann Wolf

Ann Wolf is an interior designer based in Texas who is certainly not one dimensional. She has designed a Shaker-inspired farmhouse in Colorado, an Adirondack-style summer house in upstate New York, a mid-century modern in Houston, and a "Hollywood-Glam" pied-a-terre in Manhattan. Whatever the style, her spaces are always elegant yet practical, sophisticated yet whimsical yet. I'm not typically drawn to massive doses of pattern and colour, but she really knows how to mix it up and isn't afraid to be bold with colour combinations. I really admire that.

Michael Wells encore

Sometimes a picture traps you, pulls you in, seduces you. An image grows into imagination, inspiration. Something as simple as light and film, a shutter and a bucket load of talent takes your breath away. (OK we all know that the light and film thing is old hat and don't get me to explain the intricacies of digital imagining because I can't. As for the simplicity of a bucketful of talent I let the hyperbole run away from me.) All I really know is that photographer Michael Wells has "it", the gift, the knack. Enjoy his portfolio .... so much more new work since last time he popped up on our pages here.
