Colour in the kitchen

Elizabeth Dimond emailed us a link to the Elmira Stove Works. WOW! Talk about colour in the kitchen. Here in Australia there are many colours in appliances as long as you basically want white or stainless steel. There are of course SMEG fridges and dishwashers but I've never seen a co-ordinated kitchen range like these retro beauties. Although I can't see it online Elizabeth says she's spotted these wonders in that retro colour to beat all colours ..... avocado. Now you're talking!

Punchy chandeliers

Did you see these amazing chandeliers in this kitchen by Civility Design that Kim included in her kitchen post yesterday? What a way to pack a punch in a room. For a couple of days now Pink from Casapinka has been wrestling with a colourful chandelier dilemma herself. Not sure if I'm into the orange myself but those light fittings are a big statement. Love a bit of drama and fun in a room. What do you think?

Cuckoo for colour

Are you considering painting bright colours in your home? If so, let the following photos of a penthouse in Montréal be of inspiration to you. These may be OTT for alot of people, but it takes courage to use bright colours, and these folks could not be more courageous or adventurous.

Nick's place

I eagerly await each new month at Domino. No not the magazine but the website. I can't find the magazine here in Australia so the monthly online update is my eagerly awaited fix. And this month's held a pleasant surprise, more photos of Nick Olsen's home. I know it has been featured in the magazine (and we've posted the first 2 pictures before) but I, along with most of our overseas readers, haven't seen it. Nick has a great sense of style. It's witty, classic yet electic with lashings of Hollywood Regency thrown in and embraces colour in all its glory. I loved it when I saw the first few pictures now the room is more complete for me.
