A new chapter

For those who don't know, I've been dating Jeff for quite a while now...we argue about how long it's been. Jeff says 8 years and I say this summer will be 10. We've talked about moving back in together (we lived in 4 different places together, the last of which was a home we owned together) and about getting married. Well, on Saturday we thought we'd go check out rings at an antique market and sure enough yesterday I came home with one.
I LOVE it - very deco in style and I love that's it unique. So it seems Jeff and I are officially FINALLY engaged and we are thinking about having a small casual wedding (perhaps a BBQ in my parents backyard this summer). Frankly big weddings scare me. Along with wedding plans, there will also be some more renovation projects around my house, and some will have to happen ASAP if Jeff and his 2 cats are going to fit in here. Yes folks, there will be NINE cats in this house. So stay tuned for lots of happenings over the next several months.

Congratulations! That ring is gorgeous! I love the style.
Nine cats, yikes! :)
Thanks Jeni! (Want a cat??!!)
Hey Babe,
LOVE YA LOTS, yup, 9 cats, cant wait, lol.
Hellz yeah motherf*?!*er! Love is the shit. Good job guys!
I got married in the pretty backyard of a house where we lived in the basement suite, with 12 people and no dress. Best decision I ever made. The small wedding that is. And marrying James.
About bloody time!!! First job on the house front is a new extention just for the cats. Or maybe to double the size of the bedroom so you can put in 2 kingsize beds side by side so all of you can sleep together in comfort. I too avoided the big wedding thing. Just a private ceremony with K and I and our witnesses then the next day a big lunch for family and a few friends in a riverside restaurant. No place cards or cake or decorations just good wine and food. Oh and a huge luxurious suite at a 5 star hotel!
Congratulations! The ring is, of course, absolutely gorgeous.
Adore the ring! Congratulations...
You can never have too many cats! :-)
Thanks everyone!!! :-)
CONGRATULATION!!!
What a beautiful ring. Congratulations to both of you!
Congratulations!!!!!!!
Good luck with the cats!
Congratulations, the ring is just gorgeous! sounds very familiar to my own engagement story...nothing romantic, dated for five years, in bed one night, "you want to get married?" sure.. And then we got the ring together.
Thank you StacyShine, Zio :), Melanie and Jenni o!
Congratulations. I wish you many many years of happiness. You don't really know me other than replying to one of my queries, but since I've fallen in love with your site, I feel I know you.

Dad
Thanks again everyone, Dad in particular. :)
And yes, I hope to find someone as anal about good photography as I am to take some cool pics of the event and I will for sure share them here and on Flickr.
Well, Kim, not quite the way I'd have hoped to here about this but I know you've got a lot to be preoccupied by at the moment. But this does give me a solid head's up on picking out my "Mate of Honor" attire. Hmm? Suit? Tux? Dress? Are you gonna do a drag wedding? Oh... SO many things to think about!!! ;)
M'dear... a big ole CONGRATULATIONS!!! To you and the man!
Don't worry about the 9 cats. It's only problematic when it just YOU and the cats. ;)
Happy as a pig in a pancake for ya's! :)
Thanks UB!! And while of course you're invited, the attire is totally up to the guests. Since it will likely be held in my folks' backyard by the pool, even speedos/bikini would do!
