Going for BBQ on a Sunday

There is a time and a place where classy, elegant decor is suitable. A BBQ restaurant definitively calls for something casual and I absolutely adore the vintage industrial vibe that interior designer Jordan Littler went with Red's True Barbecue in Sheffield, England.

'On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all of his work.'  Genesis 2:2

On their seventh restaurant, Red's wanted to evolve the concept and introduce a neighbourhood feel that would connect with the people of Ecclesall Road in Sheffield. 120 covers spread over two floors, the design takes it's inspiration from Sheffield's strong musical heritage combined with the authentic atmosphere of Rainey Street in Austin, Texas, to create a house party vibe at your Grandmas house. A collection of junkyard trinkets decorate the glass fronted bar alongside delicate tiffany lights, frilly standing lamps and traditional rugs, all set off against a rough, unapologetic interior utilising Red's iconic batting cages and exposed lath walls. Our very own carefully curated teenage VHS collection was incorporated into the concealed door on the first floor connecting to the trippy, hallucinogenic corridor leading to the toilets. A bit of Nightwood

A few years ago Jo featured a gorgeous home filled with well worn, vintage treasures by Brooklyn's Nightwood. I loved that post and thought I would feature a few more spaces of theirs that I adore. Unpretentious, lived-in, earthy, handmade loveliness (and do check out their shop - adore the bell jar sconce).

The Dreamcatcher

After discovering the website of The Dreamcatcher, I am ready to pack my bags, skip work this week and hop on a plane to San Juan, Puerto Rico. This vegetarian B&B is all kinds of bohemian vintage awesomeness and would be such a delightful and cozy getaway from life's monotonous realities...like WEEK FOUR of my foyer being painted/wallpapered. *SHOOT ME* (Photos: Ayasha + Christina)

Vintage love

Jo and I are still in long weekend mode trying to recuperate from all the chocolate and general bad-for-you food that was consumed so I leave you with this fabulous home I spotted on Elle Decoration Sweden's website. It is vintage Swedish with a twist. Instead of pale wood against a white backdrop this home is filled with teak/mahogany tones which really pop. With some classic mid-century chairs, funky lighting, industrial and rustic touches it's pretty spot-on in my books. (styling: Edin Memic Kjellvertz, photos: Andrea Papini)

A very industrial SOHO apartment

Three Seven is made up of Caroline Petit of France and American Jonas Mason. Together they are out to conquer the world (or at least America) by dumpster diving, attending auctions, exploring abandoned barns and neglected garages in the hunt for vintage treasures. You can check out the products they have found and sell in their shop here, and this SOHO apartment is an example of the thrifted, industrial style they love.
