Reader's home

Ann-Marie and Oliver emailed us recently wanting to share their renovated London home with us. It's a Victorian cottage that they completely gutted and extended (and fortunately they included some before photos). The decor is stunning - all light woods, creamy and white walls, gorgeous white kitchen with butcherblock countertops....there's SO MUCH to love in this home. Such simple and natural spaces that easily please the eye. Fantastic work Ann-Marie and Oliver - you guys should be really proud of your hard work!

Remember this? Roeschel's living room was part of our DIY+ e-design consultation with interior designer Jason Martin, recently named one of House Beautiful's Next Wave 20 interior designers.  Roeschel has finally finished and emailed us with the results. It's an amazing transformation! A job well down Roeschel. Such a beautiful and calm space. Casually elegant and very liveable it's certainly no cookie cutter room with vintage finds and lots of Roeschel's personality shining through. Follow renovation adventures on her blog DIY Showoff especially the before and afters of her own home, a charming 1927 farmhouse. I particularly love her barn!

I'd like you all to meet Thiago.

Thiago is a 27 year old from Curitiba, Brazil, and he wanted to share his home with our readers. He decorated his home with vintage and industrial items and he did it all on his own. I think he's done an awesome job turning this into a hip bachelor's pad. Congrats Thiago! (To all the ladies out there reading this post -  better make sure your S.O. is not within viewing distance of your monitor or you may need to replace your grandmother's antique rosewood hutch with a tool chest, or you'll find a beer sign propped on your buffet where your Chinese porcelain ginger jar used to be).

Reader's home

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to live in a converted loft (and this desire has grown in the past 2 years since living in a 12' wide home). What a pleasure to find an email in my inbox from Peter Wagner of Germany who wanted to share his loft with our readers. It is located in an old factory and in one year Peter converted the space HIMSELF into a spacious and cosy home that I am utterly envious of. Here are a couple before photos that show how much work he took on:

And now photos of the newly renovated space that he did such a wonderful job with. I especially love his use of Ikea storage units throughout. (Photos by the talented Michael Berger).

Reader's home

Reader Juan sent us a link to his home asking if we'd like to feature it. Yes please. A small studio space with kitchen and bath it is minimally furnished but with maximum style. A man of few words (in his emails at least) a google or two and I discover he is a talented graphic designer/illustrator/artist. His art wall collection is fab. The stacks of small art works, the plastic animal collection, the haphazard books, the cool stereo and wine bottles just waiting to have their corks pulled and wine glasses filled. It all speaks of one cool guy.
