Reader's home
For as long as I can remember I have wanted to live in a converted loft (and this desire has grown in the past 2 years since living in a 12' wide home). What a pleasure to find an email in my inbox from Peter Wagner of Germany who wanted to share his loft with our readers. It is located in an old factory and in one year Peter converted the space HIMSELF into a spacious and cosy home that I am utterly envious of. Here are a couple before photos that show how much work he took on:
And now photos of the newly renovated space that he did such a wonderful job with. I especially love his use of Ikea storage units throughout. (Photos by the talented Michael Berger).

Wonderful job with the loft!! Chainsaw as art? Hmmm...
Absolutely Love Love Love this!
Wonderful....so inspiring!!
Am loving the built in garden bed in the kitchen, brilliant :)
Im in LOVE!!
What a great job, extreamly beautiful .I love the clean ,simple and functional design, the colours and the balance of full and empty spaces. And the plants are enough for the place, they don't get tire eyes but beautiful.Just - maybe- the walls need some paints. Superb work indeed.
This is my dream home come true.
OMG!! I looooove this job. the colours are perfects and this is a simple design but this's really beautiful.
It's wonderful.
Wow, he did an amazing job! Is he single and straight, lol. It's a toss up as he is both handy and tasteful;)
Besos,
Jaime
Great job and so much space! The inbuilt planter in the kitchen is bold and brilliant. I think the place can gain even more in character by adding some artwork (in addition to the chainsaw on display) and a few sparks of colour.
Haha love the chainsaw art! The loft is so well done. Now I want one and i'm not usually a loft person.
xoxo
chainsaw on shelf = awesome.
i really like the row of spices in the kitchen, too.
I CANNOT believe how perfect this place turned out! what an amazing job!
Love it....
I rarely comment because I would just say the same thing over and over, but dude. I love this place! He really got the minimal but still cosy balance just right.
minimal, beautiful...dare I say a little sexy?
I have always wanted to live in a loft space too, I'm stuck in suburbia! LOL
These pics made my day!
wow, his house turned out amazing! Wonderful job!!!!!
LOVE THE CHAINSAW AS ART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
woosh! thats soooo gorgeous! love it.
where in germany is that? i've got to visit him directly!
we've got many wonderful old factory buildings in my town... gotta go now and check if I can move into one!!!
great work!
ok, just checked the photographer`s website and in his portfolio is the whole loft series. wonderful piece of living space. i am envious beyond description...
Anyone know where could i find the side panels (white) that he used to make a bench/wood storage?
Very inspiring indeed i would like to "borrow" his idea.
Please help if you can, i'm a neophyte when it come to design.
First, after the last few retro posts, I'm going to giggle about the abundant use of live plants in a modern setting! Then I'm going to rave about the wild use of lower space, with its dedication to books... and the resident chainsaw overseeing it all. I seriously wish color had made its way into the palette -- what IS it with men and beige? -- but what a marvelous space for a claustraphobe.
Oh my goodness. That floor is to die for. So is the bathroom. Yummy...
Superb!! Peter has done an incredible job. I love lofts, shame they are nowhere to be found where I live.
Hope he's married. I think I'd be a bit worrie dif I went home to see his etchings and found a chain saw!!! Seriously though this is a beautiful space. He's done an amazing job.
Oh my God. This bath reminds me Auschwitz or something O_o
Oh God, I didn't comment the right post :D Sorry.
