Living small - Alan Chu

I found this compact São Paulo apartment designed by Brazilian architect Alan Chu and had to share. It's got micro square footage but Alan made such great use of limited space. A single wall was converted into storage for both the kitchen and living room, which kept the majority of those spaces free for basic furnishings. I think he and the owner like subway tiles. :) The spiral staircase is compact and a gorgeous architectural feature. Overall, a really cool space. (Via Casa Vogue Brasil)

New work from San Francisco based interior designer Antonio Martins. The Atelier is the room he has created for the 2013 San Francisco Decorator Showcase, opening Saturday. Layers of design, layers of textures and finishes, layers of meaning. A small space that spins a story through the most basic of materials, burlap, but is refined and elegant in the telling. A man's space, an artisan's lair, a collector's sanctuary. A place away and yet in the present, a place beyond and always in contact with the world. A beautiful place.

A compact loft

That's why I love this little downtown Salt Lake CIty, Utah loft for sale by cityhomeCollective. It's a 452 sq ft space with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom over 2 floors with a little patio to boot. LOVE the brick exterior, original hardwood and exposed ductwork. A funky bachelor  pad(or bachlorette if you throw in some feminine touches).
