What do you do when the parents want no colour and no fuss and the kids are talking parakeet hues and bunnies for the bedroom? There may be a compromise but definitely not in the style department. Love this New York City loft by Monique Gibson. A fabulously family home for all.
Close your eyes and try to imagine your idea of the quintessentially English country home. Mine has boot rooms and sculleries, flagstones and wood burners, antiques and quirky family treasures. There are bedrooms under the eaves, beams and hopefully a roll top bath. Of course there would be a big kitchen diner with room for a sofa or two and a snug for those chilly nights. The thing is I don't have to close my eyes. I just have to drink in these photos of The Stables by hám interiors. Can't get much more English ... oh maybe a chocolate labrador lying by the fire.
Can you tell I'm just about to start my kitchen renovation? That the only things on my mind at the moment are kitchens, kitchens, kitchens? I'd love to scrap my plans and start all over again now that I've seen this moody beauty by New York-based interior designer Monique Gibson. You can see more of the East Village Atelier here.
