Reader request - industrial kitchens

Today was a bit of a quiet week so I thought I'd squeeze in another reader request since my list is rather lengthy. This one is from Lee: "Do you any inspiration for industrial looking kitchens, doing a kitchen remodel and like the not so clean put together look." Industrial, not-so-put-together kitchens are my favourites - next to my existing Greentea kitchen that is :) - so I was happy to devour my photo stash on the hunt for some of these types of kitchens. Reader request - wall ovens

Today's reader request comes from Clare: "we are putting in a new kitchen and changed from a range to a wall oven.... do you have any pictures that you can share with some ideas for the placement of wall ovens." Reader requests - backsplash and home office

Reader request time! This one (actually 2) comes from Malou: "My husband and I are constantly inspired by your posts. We're hoping you can help us with ideas for:1. kitchen backsplashes for an all kitchen with white cabinets and dark gray floors   2. home office with tables in the middle". Simple enough. So here are some white kitchens, most with grey floors, that have some ideas for backsplashes. After the jump are some offices with tables/desks in the middle of the space.

Reader request - white kitchen appliances

Reader request time. This one comes from Kelly: "I'm looking for inspiring kitchens that feature white appliances. We moved into a home in the suburbs of Chicago and stove in the house was a brand new white stove. When we replaced the refrigerator and dishwasher we also chose the more-economical-than-stainless white. Most inspirational kitchens feature stainless appliances but I would love to see what you come up with. I've only seen three good examples: One featuring the new Martha Stewart cabinets at Home Depot (the "Ox Hill" image in the gallery)...and this image from Canadian House & Home...and this image with white appliances and black cabinets." I was excited to find images of white appliances for Kelly because when I had started thinking about how I wanted to renovate my kitchen, I kept coming back to the idea of white cabinets, countertop and appliances and adding colour simply through a backsplash or accessories. Here are many examples of kitchens with white appliances (including some all-white-kitchen ones) that hopefully will help Kelly figure out what to do.

Reader request - kitchen islands

Here's a reader request that came to us a little while ago (sorry, I wish I had time to do these posts more often) from Michelle:
"I'm currently having my kitchen re-designed and built from re-claimed wood. The texture of these re-fashioned door fronts is incredible. The process is an evolving one and will eventually involve a re-do of the kitchen island as well. I plan to put a small stainless sink (round) in the island. Back in April (I think) you had a photo of an island done in re-claimed wood with chrome carts placed underneath for an wonderful mix of industrial warmth (** photo below from nuevo-estilo.es). I have purchased an old (100 years + door with the original blue paint) that will be cut (yes, it will hurt to cut it in half) and used as each end of the island (the short ends). Beyond this plan, the rest of the design is an open book. I wonder if you can post some island inspiration that will help and that might allow me to think outside the box even more when it comes to how to best utilize the space inside or under the island effectively (storage & cost that is)."

I went through my stash of kitchen photos and grabbed a bunch of kitchen islands that I find intriguing. Hopefully something will inspire you Michelle, although maybe just shoving metro carts under it is a quick/simple/cheap solution. (I'd like to point out that I noticed a few islands with storage for wine which is awfully smart considering I hate most wine racks and have my meager wine collection stashed under my kitchen sink).
