Bad girl is back

Yes I'm back from a decadent and too too over indulgent weekend in paradise. Only trouble is I'm short a post for today. I thought I'd tease Kim with these shots of a late spring day which climbed into the 30s (celsius) after a few morning showers. Yes the water really is that blue and yes for some crazy reason I was up at 6.00am for the last shots. Which is more unbelievable? I'll be back to regular posting tomorrow.

Holiday

Today is Thanksgiving Day here in the north. I'd like to wish all my fellow Canadians a Happy Thanksgiving. I'm going to my younger sister's house for a non-traditional dinner of spaghetti and meatballs. Our parents are in Mexico so we're having a non-parental holiday dinner with people deserted by family. :) In honour of this holiday and the fall season, that I detest wholeheartedly because it means winter is around the corner, here is one thing I do enjoy - leaves changing colour. This is the tree in my front yard.

And while I'm not talking about anything design-y, I thought I should mention that I've got a big "project" coming up at the end of the week that is going to keep me very preoccupied so I won't be posting much over the next few days while I prepare for it. I can't really say much about it now, but I will say that I'm SO EXCITED!!! And not only do I have that on my plate but the preparations for my kitchen remodel as well. I got a bit of work done on the weekend that I will share in a future post on my kitchen blog, but here's a sneak peek.

Shanghaied

I'm actually on a few days off at the moment. Not the "few days off, book a room at the beach" type days off but the "sew the roman blinds, upholster the day bed, change out the drawer pulls in the bathroom " kind of days off. Right now, as I'm covered in navy paint and finishing the second roman blind does not look at all appealing, I can always dream that I've booked into JIA, Shanghai. After a hard day's shopping in one of China's most exciting cities perhaps a little room service before venturing out for even more shopping. Would someone shanghai me to Shanghai? Please?

Essaouira

Jo posted a while back about "Castles in the Sand", homes for rent in the Moroccan coastal city of Essaouira. I was on the website for these homes and found so many amazing photos that I had to do an encore. I would give anything to take a vacation right now, and to a place this beautiful. *sigh*
