Le Logis de Puygaty

Once upon a time in a far away land (everywhere is far away if you live in Australia) lived a stressed out princess who really, really wanted to swap places with Sleeping Beauty if sleeping meant napping in these beds. The French seem so good at it. Rustic wonderlands with super comfy down filled, linen clad beds, sunny outsides and cave like insides. History, laidback luxury, warm winds blowing, great wine, fabulous food, warm pools for between nap dips and too cute pets. Move over Sleeping Beauty I'm taking over your bed! Le Logis de Puygaty, a fairytale of a getaway.

Fairytales come true

Once upon a time a princess, let's call her Princess Jo decided she needed her own castle, a Château in fact. Somewhere in Provence. Something simple. Nothing too flashy. She may be a fairytale princess but she had her feet firmly on the ground (yah right!).  She asked her fairy godmother to find her something. Spare and simple, almost monastic but always breathtakingly beautiful. Her fairy godmother ended up being Anzhelika from Miss Design. (Go visit her blog she may grant your wishes too.) Château de Moissac is too gorgeous to be true ... but it is. Fairytales do come true.

Le Mas des Isords

Gérard Faivre Paris creates entirely renovated, decorated and furnished prestigious apartments and properties for sale..."LIVE AT HOME LIKE IN A 5 STAR HOTEL" is the vision. Le Mas des Isords is one of these properties, a 7 bedroom 7 bathroom meticulously restored 18th-century mas (traditional Provençal farmhouse), complete with the latest amenities including stainless-steel gourmet kitchen with appliances by Boffi, fully equipped 12-seat movie theatre, lap pool, stables, grounds designed by landscape architect Xavier Loup.... Gérard Faivre has completely metamorphosised a beautiful but neglected mas into a residence where his modern touch refrains from being excessive and which respects the architectural tradition of this truly incredible property. It's a slice of posh heaven I'd say.

Casual Friday

It is Thursday night as I am getting this post ready and I am a little bit swamped - I need to tidy up the house and get some photos together as we're meeting with another architect tomorrow when I'm off work for our house additions (we hadn't heard from the first one in a while, and we just found out due to some serious family matters he's unable to continue with our project). Luckily this shouldn't stall our plans. Anyhoo, I thought in my haste I'd just slap up some photos I saved a while ago from the website of French magazine Campagne Décoration (suitable because I had a 3 hour French class this aft).

Dreaming...

Pinch me. I'm dreaming. Dreaming of slow, warm summers in the south of France. Of family times, olive trees and a converted barn. I'm dreaming and I don't want to wake up. This stunning feature is from Vårtnya Hem. An incredibly tasty site. Check it out.
