Le Mas des Isords
Gérard Faivre Paris creates entirely renovated, decorated and furnished prestigious apartments and properties for sale..."LIVE AT HOME LIKE IN A 5 STAR HOTEL" is the vision. Le Mas des Isords is one of these properties, a 7 bedroom 7 bathroom meticulously restored 18th-century mas (traditional Provençal farmhouse), complete with the latest amenities including stainless-steel gourmet kitchen with appliances by Boffi, fully equipped 12-seat movie theatre, lap pool, stables, grounds designed by landscape architect Xavier Loup.... Gérard Faivre has completely metamorphosised a beautiful but neglected mas into a residence where his modern touch refrains from being excessive and which respects the architectural tradition of this truly incredible property. It's a slice of posh heaven I'd say.

meh,
this kitsch museum has no heart & no soul.
WOW!! let me stay there! Usually when designers work in South France they tend to be more shabby chic, which is rather boring. It is great to see actual contemporary living in rural environments! I would like to see a bit more original features though, I really like the vaulted ceiling rooms, very typical from that area.
I think it´s pretty ghastly. You could be anywhere. They should have visited the Salvinia Lodge and taken their example.
Other than the very dark carpet in a couple of rooms...i pretty much love it all..what with that traditional facade providing stunning contrast to the interior..stunning! have a lovely day...it's polka dots on my blog today..do check it out when you have a moment! xx meenal
OMG its totally gorgeous and amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know it's a question of taste, and I do appreciate all posts, but in my opinion the original essence of the building has been completely obliterated. There is no "respect for architectural tradition" at all.
patrice and julie, i'm with you. meh.
I'm sure the old stones are taking comfort in the fact that within ten years this layer of glued on concepts will be for sale at the local recycling center.
oh my god- that bathtub!
I like it .. the exterior that is ... the rest ... hmm, it's not my cup of tea. It says " .... refrains from being excessive and which respects the architectural tradition ... ", well to my thinking, totally untrue.
This is possibly the only space ever featured on DTI that I truly dislike (love the website, girls!). Having stayed in a couple of mas and seen a few more, I'm with Julie: this could be anywhere, and the decor is ghastly anyway.
Look we are very rich and have no taste, sorry can't help it
Did Donald Trump's designer wander in? Oh, dear. All the objects that said "I'm a patron of the... whatever" gathered together. At least there's no sign of being anywhere in particular.
Badly conceived and poorly executed. Obviously by some team of designers / architects who (1) have no concept what a 5 star hotel is truly like and (2) have no intention of spending one night in that mishmash of a place and stumbling around it's vagrant curves bumping into oddly placed artefacts. It looks more like a tarted up bomb shelter than a Provencal Mas. (IMHO)
