Serge Mouille lighting

On Monday Jo blogged the interior photography of Hallie Burton, and in that post were a couple of photos of a VERY cool light fixture. A reader named Martha asked about it, and I told her it was the creation of Serge Mouille. She noted that since I had already blogged about Jieldé lights (here and here), that I might be up for featuring another French lighting design. I was certainly up for the challenge, as I have coveted Serge Mouille fixtures for some time now. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be owning one of these beauties anytime soon as they are awfully pricey. Damn.

Isabel López-Quesada encore

I love the portfolio of Spanish designer Isabel López-Quesada. Love. I needed inspiration to start the week. I knew I would find it on her website. Rustic yet elegant. Casual and real but steeped with history and a sense of place. Here a dream house in Biarritz, France.

Friday escape

I thought I would help Kim with her French studies. A weekend away. A full French immersion experience. French food. French wine. Speaking only French. The food and wine are for me. The French is for Kim. I can't speak a word and anyway it's rude to speak French with your mouth full of French wine and French food. I think the perfect place to stay would be Baudon de Mauny, a chic and casual mix of modern in a 1777 Hotel Particulier. Perfect.

Reader's home - Nathalie's sanctuary

Nathalie, from France, sent along some photos of her home to share with our readers. She rents the home (located in a small village 50km south of Paris) and decorated on a budget, wanting to create a cozy space inside and out. In Nathalie's words: ...je crois que les associations de couleurs, de meubles et d'idées priment sur les moyens. I think it's charming and I am very envious of her beautiful garden (and her pooch is adorable!).
