Heart Home magazine

Today is a great day. My French test is finally done (so please say a little prayer that I got the mark I needed) and I can finally have my life back and hopefully finish my Christmas preparations - well, present shopping and wrapping is all as I won't have time to bake/decorate or anything else. Before I get my arse in gear for all that I thought I'd take a few minutes and point out that there is a UK digital interiors magazine called Heart Home that you all MUST check out. It's frankly up there with Rue and Lonny. Seriously. A big thanks to Carole, one of the mag's 3 editors, for emailing us to let us know. Here are some of my favourite photos from the 2 issues they have launched so far.

moon

AC sent us an email this week to let us know about the architecture firm he works for based in Bristol, UK called moon. I really admire their work - it's real world designs that are fairly simple with brilliant little touches here and there. My favourites: kitchen cabinet wrapping into the dining room, desk nook, wall cut-out for projector screen, funky round door handles (!!!!!), wrap-around bathroom cabinets, glass stair partition, funky uneven stairs...

Stiff + Trevillion take 2

Stiff + Trevillion = leading UK architects featured by Jo about 2 years ago. Modern, clean lines and innovative designs. I can't get enough of the tiles in the kitchen above and bathroom after the jump. FAB! And I don't really understand the kitchen above but I frankly don't care because it rocks.

I love this house!

Main reasons why I love this location home from 1st Option (some spaces admittedly need some work like the living and dining rooms):
1. chandelier in hallway
2. b/w photography framed in white with white mats
3. ornate mirrors everywhere (so fab in the kitchen)
4. b/w photography featuring deer
5. all white dreamy kitchen
6. mercury glass (or tin?) pendants
7. massive kitchen island
8. gorgeous wallpapers
9. capiz shell chandelier
10. bathroom vanity (vintage cabinet with modern sinks and wall mounted faucets on tiled backsplash)

Colour zap

The latest from award winning design firm Andy Martin Architects. Chevron House, West London. "Inspired by the architecture of the existing elegantly proportioned spaces, the design sets out to exaggerate, by scaling the space by removing walls, and attaching new space to create a large Edwardian warehouse on each of the three levels. The ground floor, the public level is essentially one space which is divided only by the use of colour and material. On the second and third levels, the private floors, bedrooms merge into bathrooms and visa versa. The rear of the property has new extensions off both the living and kitchen reaching into the garden to absorb the light from the south. The client's brief to use colour extensively was applied in such that the walls and ceilings are left light in colour (off white) and that only elements or interventions (joinery etc) would be strongly coloured giving the house a lighter atmosphere with greater sense of perspective." Colour. OMG colour! It's like a zing from tingly fruit candies, the zap from sherbert powder. I think I need a green bathroom!
