Amor e locura

I thought I would share another stylish and unusual Australian store. I have a love of vintage and the found. amor e locura, "love and madness" imports the faded beauty of Argentina to the boho streets of Fitzroy Melbourne. Architectural antiques, furniture and collectibles .... love the grandeur, love the sadness, love the reuse, love the name.

Designer Rugs sent us an email about their new range of rugs by Georgina Chapman of Vixen. Georgina is a fabulously talented Australian fashion and textile designer. We gave a sneak peek of the rugs in our WINKS last Saturday but today I wanted to feature more of Georgina’s work. If boho modern is your thing visit Vixen’s website. You’re in for a treat. Lush patterns and fabrics not only in clothing but in a home wares range as well. Check out more of Designer Rugs’ range as well. Gorgeous rugs!

How the other half live in Bris Vegas

Timber houses with iron roofs dot the older suburbs of my hometown Brisbane. Verandas skirt them and wrought iron lacework dresses them up. French doors let the breeze waft in. Most are humble workers cottages. Some are not. Less than 1km from the centre of town in the oldest suburb and presenting an elegant but understated exterior to the passing traffic is this 7 bedroom, 5 bathroom extravaganza. No humble abode this but a homage to all things French and colonial. Black white and beige never had so much umph. Price on application and by negotiation. Means much money, ouch! More Megan Morton!

The fabulous Megan Morton sent so many photos to share when we were guest blogging on design*sponge. This is a look at her take on modern spaces. You can really feel the vibe of the clean minimalist lines in her shoots. Thanks Megan. You get to see the insides of some amazing places!

Naked bodies, drag queens and Florence Broadhurst

More goodies from Nadia at Signature Prints. A few weeks ago we posted about the collaboration between London cabaret club Madame JoJo's and Signature Prints (see it here). Isn't that the most outrageous wallpaper you have ever seen?! General manager, Helen Lennie can be seen with two of the cabaret's famous (or should that be infamous) performers.

Part two of the goodies is that extraordinarily talented body artist/make up artist Emma Hack has an exhibition of her work featuring Florence Broadhurst patterns from Monday 15 October at the ArtHouse Hotel, Sydney. Emma's work is amazing but be warned her website does contain nudity and adult themes.
