How the other half live in Bris Vegas
Timber houses with iron roofs dot the older suburbs of my hometown Brisbane. Verandas skirt them and wrought iron lacework dresses them up. French doors let the breeze waft in. Most are humble workers cottages. Some are not. Less than 1km from the centre of town in the oldest suburb and presenting an elegant but understated exterior to the passing traffic is this 7 bedroom, 5 bathroom extravaganza. No humble abode this but a homage to all things French and colonial. Black white and beige never had so much umph. Price on application and by negotiation. Means much money, ouch! Click to supersize.

What a stunning home! My mom agrees - she just sent me an email and included this comment: "I took a look at your blog this morning, and the post that Jo did on the house in Brisbane is absolutely amazing. That's the kind of home that has been my dream all along. If only...! I think in all the pictures I've seen on your blog, this has to be my favorite. Great job Jo."
gorgeous! i LOVE that striped rug! it's so great to be inspired by places like this and add similar touches to our own humble abodes.
I knew you'd love it Miss black white bliss! And Kim's Mom you could move to Brisbane, buy the house and Kim could have the downstairs. It's close to town has views of the inner city golf course (yes I said inner city golf course) and a short walk to the cosmopolitan Valley area and hip James Street.
*blink* amazing place jo. wow. i love it. like some of the houses down this way... except not that open, of course!
some australians live in supreme luxury.
