Hermon & Hermon

There is a "look" in Australia, one that is instantly recognisable, one that brings a certain name to mind ..... Hermon & Hermon. This iconic Melbourne design mecca has since 1967 been synonymous with natural fibres, stripped back furniture and covetable homewares. Sourced from around the world there is an ethnic vibe but in a natural pared back way. The unusual and the beautiful sit side by side.

Hayes De La Vega

Sydney based architects Hayes De La Vega produce wonderful modern buildings and interiors but the past is strongly referenced as well. Detail to attention and consideration of the site and it's environment are paramount. I love the organic feel of some of their work as well as the slick modern nature of other interiors. I particularly love the teak draining floor of the last bathroom and the view afforded by the alfresco bath.

Porters Paints do wallpaper

Thought I’d share these gorgeous wallpapers from Porters Paints. Known in Australia for their range of paints from lime washes and milk paints to distempers and traditional paint finishes to premium quality acrylic paints. The range is very small at present but I’m loving the thistle pattern and the cute as cute passion flower stripe. Find out more information about Porters Paints and wallpapers here.

Encore, encore!

We posted these photos over on design*sponge but I just had to post them again here in large format. This dark luxe Sydney city apartment is elegant, sophisticated and masculine. When you tire of the luxury appointments you can always gaze out the full height windows at the amazing Sydney view. Another stunner from Greg Natale. Thanks for being so generous with the pictures of your work Greg. Don’t forget to click to supersize!

PS Greg is sending photos of his latest white on white beach house. Can’t wait!

Darryl Gordon

Too often neutral is used as a dirty word in design. Colour and pattern reign supreme. If a look is monochrome more often than not it is sparsely minimalist. These beautiful spaces by Sydney interior designer Darryl Gordon are neutral as neutral should be. Classy textured lush interiors whether modern or traditional. Oh and just a punch of colour with that bathroom. Whoa!
