My new boots!!

As I mentioned in my last post, my 2 new pairs of boots from Karmaloop arrived today. And they FIT! And I LOVE THEM!!

Here are the Ralph boot by Ash. The ones I wanted that I mentioned here were about twice the price and no one had any in stock that I could find. So I settled for these instead:

I also got a pair of Dr. Martens and they are shockingly pretty compared to typical Docs. These are the Darcie 8-Eye Boot in Black and Taupe Lace. SO COMFY!!! And they were ON SALE!!!

Stay tuned...

On Thursday I broke down and ordered 2 pairs of boots online. They arrived today (talk about fast) but I missed the DHL delivery guy by about 10 f*cking minutes. So tomorrow when I get home from work my boots should be here - and of course I had to pay another $32 (duty and whatever other bullshit they charge) on top of the $24 I paid initially for shipping. Anyhoo, wait 'till you see them. I'm SO STOKED. Most of my decent footwear I leave at work and then when I go anywhere while I'm at home I curse that I have nothing to wear but one of my 2 pairs of Frye's. I will say nothing more until I get them....except one looks a bit like the Ash boots I had blogged here not that long ago (which I cannot find in stock anywhere)....

More stuff I bought in Mexico

On top of the knick knacks and jewelry and scarves I bought in Mexico, I also scored large in the clothing department and pretty decent with shoes. My husband took some photos while I attempted to model them - all the while he kept trying to crack me up hence several of my huge, goofy smiles.

Love these 2 little mini skirts. (They were about $35 each). From Liverpool (a big department store). Worn with my adorable new flats, which were probably $20 from our favourite hole-in-the-wall shoe store.

LOVE this skirt also from Liverpool. It has 2 layers, and between the layers are string that you tie together to make all that ruching happen - as much as you want or none.

I bought this skirt in Sayulita. The shop owner made it out of several t-shirts.Worn with some gladiator sandals I also bought there.

A couple of cute blousey tops, from a shop called Shasa. I think they were about $30 each. (I think Jeff was crouched down when he took these pics - my boobs look more huge than normal).

A little sweater vest and dolman sweater also from Shasa.

A double layer striped tank and striped boxy thin shirt I think both from Shasa.

Drapey cardigan and cute blouse from Sfera, which has got to be the Mexican version of Zara. Hat from a Cuban restaurant with little gift shop attached.

A dress I bought in Sayulita at same store as skirt above and to even out the photos, here's one of Phoebe who bugged me the whole time I was changing into these clothes.

I got alot of sun while we were south. I LOVE not being ghost white this time of the year. All my freckles popped out.I could do without the slight sunglass tan tho'.

Peaches and Cream

I was just listening to one of my favourite songs and I thought I'd share it with you guys. It's sung by Jack Pelletier, a co-worker of mine for almost 8 years whom I miss terribly (he's been off on parental leave since early December). He just sent out an email about his band (Jack Pelletier and the Battle of Ontario) opening for Eric Passmore this Saturday at Irene's Pub on Bank St. Perhaps I'll drag the hubby out for the show. :-) (His album can be purchased at cdbaby, iTunes and MySpace).

Cat drama

So last weekend I noticed Milo had a goopy eye. When I went over to clean it and check it out to my horror he had a large abscess on his cheek under that eye. It was gross, and soon burst and was leaking all over the place. Monday we took him in to the vets. Turns out he had alot of tarter buildup on his teeth and they recommended cleaning his teeth and pulling 2 molars. At a cost of $1100. I nearly shit. Anyhoo, this happened Thursday morning. And it turns out after the knocked him out and were able to get xrays they figured out he'd need 4 teeth pulled - so $1200. (And he's got something going on with his jaw which likely means more teeth pulling in the future). So the poor little pooper has essentially no teeth on the right side. And because of the extractions I had to remove the always-present bowl of dry food from the kitchen because he can't eat it until he heals. Which means about every hour someone howls their face off in my direction in the hopes I will feed them something. AH MAH GAWD I'm gonna SNAP. Thank gawd I love all these guys to pieces.
