Marcus Lawett encore

It's not always about a de-saturated colour palette when it comes to Scandinavian photography. Not always. Sometimes it's about a richness, a vibrancy. But then again it really is about that de-saturated white on white. One or the other? How about both. I have been revisiting the portfolio of Malmö based photographer Marcus Lawett. And guess what? I'm still in love with his work. (You can see my previous post here.)

We interrupt our week of real estate stalking ...

... to bring you this wonderful, colourful, joyous family home. The latest design by Suzy Hoodless. From the flamingo wall hanging for The Rug Company (a Hoodless design) and candy pastel colourway (inspired by the fashion label Acne's carrier bags) to the basalt stone steam room with red fire hydrant tap by Marcel Wanders for Boffi, from the bluest of blue family bath to the bright light living room, this family home in west London is young and fresh and fun. New work, new website.

Week of stalking 8

Boho glam with retro riffs. Eclectic, eccentric and just a little irreverent. Rockstar meets grand old dame in Sydney's Bellevue Hill. Oh how I wish I could see the subject of today's real estate stalking photographed for a magazine feature. Wide angles and unsympathetic lighting are killing these design diva digs. Hang buying the house. I'd be happy just shelling out for the chandeliers. Yum! Link here whill it lasts.

Stalking an old Dame on King St in Queenscliff

It's no secret that I like old houses. Old weatherboard houses with verandahs and tongue and groove walls tick my boxes particularly. Throw in a corrugated iron roof, a fabulous garden, dark timber floors and a sympathetic modern extension and I would be signing a contract quick smart. Stalking a charming old home in Queenscliff, Victoria. The various decks and the flow to the garden - wonderful! Pity I am only stalking and not actually moving in. (Check out the before photo the owners have included in the listing. The old girl has scrubbed up well!) Link here while it lasts.

Nick Noyes

West Coast USA, San Francisco, a Bay Region vibe. Two homes from SF based Nick Noyes Architecture. Two homes that sit lightly on the land, a series of wings and interconnections. Breezeways and outdoor spaces, simple, honest architecture with materials and construction on display. The first, on a vineyard, proud in its simple wall cladding of plywood. The second a series of classic metal roofed "boxes" resplendent in white.
