Close your eyes and imagine the quintessential Palm Springs pad. Low lines and clean lines. White and bright. Hard and cool. Glass and grass. Glitz and golf. Midcentury and modern. Pool and so so cool. With both feet in a glamorous past take a leap into the future. Spring. Palm Springs. The Eldorado Residence by Emily Summers Design Associates.
There are things that sing to me. Things that sing a siren's song. Beautiful houses call to me all the time. That's why I blog. The notes ring in my ears and I'm bewitched. They don't have to be big and pretentious houses. More often than not they are simple homes. Simple and beautiful. And recently the siren's melody is about old scrubbed timbers and lime washed floors, board on the walls and high ceilings, family kitchens and porches for sitting, house plants and comfy old furniture. There is only one conclusion with this house. Architect Heather A Wilson must be a siren.
The porch is perfect, the pool area splendid. The kitchen is to die for. While away the summer days in a purpose built little white cottage. It's like being on vacation all year round. This Charleston home has me all hot and bothered. Thank goodness for the pool and the porch! The architect is Heather A Wilson with interior design by Jen Langston.
It's been a crazy few weeks in my life. Crazy disappointing. Don't you wish you could run away from it all? Take time out? Escape from the rat race and enjoy some free time, some me time in a beautiful location. Simple, honest luxury. A weekend away at the San Giorgio Hotel on Mykonos could turn into a lifetime. I wish.
