New from Jared Frank

Fabulous new work from Jared Frank of topsy design. You'll remember his charming patio from this post but now he has cranked it up another notch. Love!

"Hadar Lorenzo wanted an annex to the men's store, that could function as a stand alone shop. A place to try out new clothes, ideas, and designers before committing to carrying them at his other locations. It was important to both of us that the shop continued H Lorenzo's long tradition of cutting edge design but that if also had its own style. Also, just as critical as the retail below, Hadar wanted an upstairs client lounge, where he could entertain clients and meet with peers over sake or espresso. Packing all this into such a narrow room, while maintaining a sense of lightness and freshness was my primary challenge."

The Assembly Hall

A kaleidoscope of colour and a lick of texture brushed across a white canvas. A riot of vintage and artisan, modern and found. Nothing is too precious but everywhere little treasures. The perfect spaces for family and friends and everyday life. Inspiration and creativity and a sense of joy from The Assembly Hall.

Another sneaky peek at Freedom's latest collection in store from today. Thanks Freedom for sending along  this pic of the Casper dining table. Cool, modern, sleek. Like the lighting too. Must jump on the website and see what it is.

Freedom's Winter collection 2013

Out tomorrow Monday 25 February ... Freedom's latest range. Just a little tease for now. I'm lovin' the retro inspired chairs here. (Nine new chairs, 12 fabrics, 3 leathers.) Aussie readers start getting excited. I've seen shots of the new pieces and I know which ones I will be rushing in to buy. More tomorrow :)

Grateful Head Salon

Oh my word! Talk about rock and roll glam! Just in from Canadian photographer Brenda Liu, the Grateful Head Salon.

I photographed this for my friend Lysa Fina who owns the salon (located in Toronto). I think there are number of elements that would translate well into a home. The space has a rock 'n roll vibe with lots of funky details, for example the raised velvet skull wallpaper and the all red show stopping bathroom. It's far from the typical all white salons we are so used to.

I've included "before" photos so you can see the transformation of the space. The salon was designed with the help of Lysa's friend and professional set designer, Nancy Niksic. I hope you enjoy!

What a transformation. Love the bathroom, the distressed walls, the skulls and Brenda captures the space perfectly. With a salon this cool the hair must be hot!
