I need a coffee
And I'd really like to be having it here at Code Black, 119 Howard St, North Melbourne by Zwei. Long black thanks.

Tonight I am having dinner at my parent's house with the family to celebrate my niece's 9th birthday. The food and the company will be great, but I will admit that a little part of me wishes I was heading out for date night with the husband to a gorgeous restaurant like Mercado de Ibiza. David Zafra, the designer, sent us these photos (we had featured another restaurant of his here) and it is quite a sight. The flooring is SO gorgeous, the lighting is spot-on (sweet Foscarini choices) and the chairs are sleek and cozy looking. I bet the food is incredible too.
Dolores Suarez and Caroline Grant are the designers behind Soho based design firm Dekar Design. They have created beautiful spaces all over the world, including several really sweet commercial spaces that I am smitten with. They are traditional/classic with a modern twist, and the result is unique and striking. I thought I would share some commercial designs too as these ladies seem to have more fun and let their hair down more in this area.
Welcoming, understated, just a little cool and just right. Not your ordinary burger and dog joint. A hip mix of concrete and white tiles warmed by wood tones. Nordburger by Genesin Studio. I'll have a mushroom burger thanks!
This has got to be the prettiest café I have ever seen. Wanda Café Optimista is located in Madrid and was designed by Parolio. After the recent years, of recession in Madrid, Parolio wanted to design a place that communicates the opposite: projecting vitality, joy, color and a positive outlook on life. The idea is that when you enter Wanda you enter the emotional universe of vacations, summer, Surf and everything positive you feel on these fun days of the year. Inside Wanda it’s always sunny, there is always a good vibe. That description alone would have me stopping in. The pastel colours with pops of neon, all of the really cute patterned pillows and the amazing pattern on the bar make this such a happy place, where you would never want to take your last sip of coffee.
