Take a 19th century pie factory, people passionate about coffee, an interior designer (Caroline Choker), a garden full of heirloom vegetables and fragrant herbs and you get an amazing venue. The Grounds of Alexandria, Sydney. Meet for a coffee and some of those amazing pastries?
I'd say let's meet for brunch tomorrow morning but I think the wait for a table may cruel the hipster experience. Looks so cool though and the reviews have been good. The Kettle Black in South Melbourne. It's apple minty green, marble, wood and hints of gold goodness elevates it above the usual grunge coffee/cafe experience. Delicious design by Studio You Me.
Drinks tonight? I'd love to come but I can't. I have to work. You'll have a fab time at The Nelson. The fitout by Techné Architecture + Interior Design is so cool. Rustic meets maritime meets industrial, distressed and recycled. I'd call in sick to work but I'm the boss. Have a rum for me!
Ewa of Gdynia, Poland owns the cutest little bar/bistro called Kropka and sent us some photos. More proof that the Polish design scene is not dead! I just love every tiny inch of this place - the colour scheme of black and white with yellow accents, walls of pegboard, Scandinavian-esque furniture outside. I would absolutely stop here for a sandwich. :)
Can't get by without it and there is nowhere better to feed my addiction than a hip hole in the wall. Coffee and a dose of cool. Nice Day, a 7 sqm down a laneway in Auckland's CBD by Material Creative.
