Saturday night

Saturday night. What to do, where to go. Grab your coat and your appetite and meet me at Transformer Fitzroy, Melbourne by Breathe Architecture. Love the inner city industrial meets greenhouse trellis vibe of this former electrical transformer warehouse now vegetarian restaurant. Exposed brick, board formed concrete and chainlink fencing softened by pools of light and tumbling vines.

Scorpios Mykonos

I spent Friday daydreaming of a hotel in Paris. Today I've run away to Greece, to the island of Mykonos, to a beach club and restaurant that takes my breath away. Simplicity and beauty and luxury. A truly stunning location and a truly stunning complex. Scorpios Mykonos.

Mammoth

The last minute Christmas rush driving you nuts? You know that coffee is a cure-all. I promise. And no one does the coffee/cafe scene better than Melbourne. Mammoth by Technè is one of the latest hot spots.

"The brief was to create a peaceful, happy space that had a nod to subtle reference points including West Coast USA, summer holidays and the aesthetic of Wes Anderson films."

I can definitely see a Euro 80s vibe as well in colours and materials. Very cool spot to escape the shopping crowds ... if only for a little while.

Pix Pintxos

Perhaps an all-black home is too much.....but for a bar it is a totally rad colour choice. This tapas bar in London was designed by Duck & Shed. Dark and moody and with accents of deep red it is slightly goth and totally HOT.

DAVVERO!

Two Italian families moved from Tuscany, Italy to Perth, Australia with the dream of opening an Italian restaurant. Two Italian bloggers, Elisabetta Rizzato of ITALIANBARK and Simona Nurcato of Bagni dal Mondo helped make this dream a reality by designing and branding what became a fun, inviting Italian restaurant and café called DAVVERO! The interior design - developed on a distance with online basis - is cosy and it mixes Italian and Australian moods in a rustic clean style. A bright space where white and natural wood are the background for the colourful made in italy items sold in DAVVERO!, which besides a restaurant is also a retail space selling Italian original products. The interior furnishing combines many tailor-made furniture pieces, designed in order to get the maximum of the interior layout, with accessories and lighting from ikea (ex. Hektar lamps customized with rope) and from online stores (ex. the Chesterfield style sofa, from an online store selling vintage items).
