Missed it by that much ... reading guide

... yet!

Settlement on my new old house was 3pm yesterday. At 9 in the morning the bank called to say they needed more paperwork. I'll keep the story short. Running around, visits to our solicitor (more money), running to the bank and our end was finished by lunch for paperwork the bank had accepted 2 weeks earlier and had raised no concerns until 5 hours before crunch time. Wonderful said the bank as we dropped in said vital paperwork. Keys were to be dropped at my husband's office in our new city after settlement. We would pick them up this morning. I sent an email to Kim whinging but happy it was all finished and settled in with a stiff drink. Then the voicemail on our mobile phone. After end of business trading. No keys until Monday because settlement was late! The bank was late! And we didn't find out until after everyone had gone home for the weekend. Buying a house, don't you love it! Thank goodness we hadn't booked the removalists until next weekend. So here is my "missed it by that much" reading list. Enjoy! I'm moving ... reading guide part 1

... 150 years young

Hi everyone! It's almost time. I move into my new old house in a matter of weeks and I AM SO EXCITED! I'm also swamped with packing. A lot of you will know that I am the thrift store and eBay queen and can never say no to the perfect bargain. I have a 2 bedroom apartment, a garage and a storage shed groaning with goodies for my new house. Just one problem ... I have to pack it all up for the move. So WINKS are on the back burner and instead I'll be posting reading guides with all the new to me blogs where I have been lurking over the past few months. Don't worry if you are not here, yet. The weirdest long weekend reading guide

... and thanks for the long weekend!

Let me explain. It's a long weekend in most (but not all) of Australia. We are having an extra day off because it's Queen Elizabeth II 's birthday. Except that was back in April and I live in a country that is slowly moving towards a republic. Just a good Aussie excuse of a three day weekend. So happy belated birthday Liz, Queen of  the Commonwealth realms: the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. I bet they all celebrate your birthday on different days too! Does that mean 16 birthday cakes? Long weekend reading list
