The weirdest long weekend reading guide

... and thanks for the long weekend!

Let me explain. It's a long weekend in most (but not all) of Australia. We are having an extra day off because it's Queen Elizabeth II 's birthday. Except that was back in April and I live in a country that is slowly moving towards a republic. Just a good Aussie excuse of a three day weekend. So happy belated birthday Liz, Queen of  the Commonwealth realms: the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. I bet they all celebrate your birthday on different days too! Does that mean 16 birthday cakes? For the rest of you welcome to our latest reading guide.

I am so glad you named the countries that are part of the Commonwealth. I live in Canada and did not know all the other countries. We celebrated last May. Yes a long weekend is always good... By the way, I rarely comment and I want to let you know that I love your blog. It is the first thing I open in the morning after the weather, of course!

Yes, in WA we celebrate the Queen's Birthday in October. Even further away from her real birthday.

Blame wikipedia Dale. I think those 16 countries are the ones she is recognised queen of as opposed to commonwealth nations. But hey more countries means more cake :)

I personally think we should have more public holidays. Let's make Melbourne Cup a Public Holiday. Thanks for the great reading.

Oh, many thanks for mention us in your reading guide. A really great honor!

You always compose a great list of discovered blogs: I am loving the fact that you added Kim Myles I had no idea that she had a blog. Thanks and have a great weekend :)

Thanks so very much for the TwoTallBlondes mention, ladies! We are most honored to be included!
