Not your normal beach shack. I'm stalking a sophisticated, elegant yet relaxed home. A mature house that has allowed its owners to enjoy life simply and stylishly. And all this just a short stroll to the ocean and golf course if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful courtyards and garden. A marriage of contemporary and traditional. A coming together of warmth and personality and the simplicity of home. It's feel good. It looks good. Texture and neutral palettes with accents of rich, deep colour. Beautiful spaces by Disc Interiors.
Neutral Bay in Sydney that is. Although the mostly neutral colour palette lifted with the occasional colour outburst might also be the reason for the blog post. I had toyed with a post name that questioned whether this was an empty home that had been styled for sale, say something like "stalking secretly sleekly styled" but I think the house is furnished like this and has been decluttered to within an inch of being empty. The kids' rooms decided it for me. This is a real home. I would have loved to have seen it with toys in the corner of the living room, more tchotchkes and perhaps a plant or two. But the styling must have worked because it is sold. Link here while it lasts.
I thought for my post today I'd do a little something different, and feature some spaces that have inspired me lately. As per my usual favourites, it's all about black, white, grey, brown and anything neutral, with industrial, Scandi, rustic and mid-century touches. (On a side note it's interesting that my wardrobe has gone this route lately as well. I'm obsessed with designers that do lots of draping and stick to neutrals such as Rick Owens, Helmut Lang, Damir Doma...) So here is some eye candy/room porn to ease you into your weekend. Hoping it's sunny and warm where you are! Cottage here I come!!!
