A German home (from a Croatian magazine)

Here is a peek at a home once again from Croatian magazine moja 4 zida (Thanks again Sanja!). This one is actually located in the Bavarian hills of Germany and designed by architects Ippolito Fleitz Group. The views are incredible and easily enjoyed through huge windows. (Photos: Bruno Helbling)

A dream vacation

Catarina sent us a link to a hotel her father worked on, located in Portugal (less than an hour from Lisbon) close to her parents' home. It's absolutely gorgeous and would be a complete dream vacation. It's called Areias do Seixo. They have rooms of various styles to suit everyone's desires - from modern to rustic/earthy to vintage/glam. They also have villas complete with kitchen, swimming pool and BBQ. Yes, I think I could see myself settling in here quite nicely. :-)

Cabin in a mountain

Love this 160 square metre cabin located literally in a mountainside. This cabin blends with nature both inside and out, but is unexpectedly furnished with modern Dutch designs (plates, cups, vases and lamps by Hella Jongerius, blankets and pillows Scholten & Baijings, lamps designed by Marcel Wanders, carpets of Claudy Jongstra, and my favourite Danish chair - Papa Bear by Hans Wegner). Sliver house

I found this really neat home in London by architects Boyarsky Murphy that is such a creative use of a small plot of land. The site had been left derelict for decades because there were no obvious ways to develop it. Wedged between two imposing Victorian end of terrace buildings with a street frontage of less than three metres, the site is eleven metres deep and 7.5 metres wide at the rear of the property. Each plan, therefore, took a different form resulting in a stacked configuration. The guiding principles behind the project were to introduce as much light as possible throughout the building whilst retaining privacy from the many neighbouring windows.

Not your average A-frame

I have always thought A-frame cabins where the cutest things ever. I am a fan of the graphic shape but this A-frame "cabin" goes above and beyond. This is quite the minimalist and modernist take on your typical A-frame structure. I freaking love it - especially the exaggerated peak. (Thanks to my BIL for the link to this William O'Brien Jr. designed cabin!)
