Golden glow

Edgy, cool and glamorous. If the copper in the kitchen of this extension to what is a heritage home isn't enough bling for you, wait until you see the gold ceiling. Minimalist, luxurious, impeccably detailed, highly functional and unique in it's materiality - Adelaide Residence 4 by Enoki.

Spaces of note

I was perusing sköna hem this morning and came across these spaces that caught my eye. Awesomeness in the form of a fat Pug, some stacks of tied up old weathered books (I want to do this in my living room), a cozy living room and an eclectic kitchen (love the plaster treatment on the wall and sewing machine table base).

Kitchen envy - latest from Henrybuilt

Henrybuilt. What kitchen dreams are made of. I have been a huge fan of this American company's work for years (previous feature here) and I continue to be impressed with their craftsmanship and attention to detail. And I am still dreaming of the day I can have my own Henrybuilt kitchen. Given the minuscule size of my current kitchen, I totally understand the importance of having a place for everything and having functional cabinetry. Half of my cabinets are a pain in the ass to access which is ridiculous given I don't have enough storage space to begin with. These folks would solve all my problems. I get so giddy just thinking about what they could do to my kitchen. Not only do they create dream kitchens but interactive wall panels, wardrobes, bathrooms and furniture and anything else you could want built out of wood.

Stalking in a family home in Melbourne

Today I'm stalking in the Melbourne suburb of Surrey Hills. Just a simple Edwardian home chock full of period features with a modern open-plan extension and the obligatory pool. Think leadlight windows and fretwork transoms, fireplaces and generously sized rooms. Everything is in a very restrained neutral palette, elegant, refined, period perfection as you would expect from a tastefully restored historic home but then ... welcome to the 21st century family livingin the new addition. The perfect merge of old and new. Link here while it lasts.

An eclectic cottage

What a fun cottage this is! All kinds of vintage awesomeness throughout this home creating quite and eclectic vibe. A bit a bit mid-century mod, a bit shabby chic, a bit granny cool. I love the unexpected. By Brighton based Black Parrots Studio
