Lampe Gras

We don't often feature products on the blog but when the company includes photos as fabulous as these of their products "in situ" I have to share. These make me want to buy TOUTES LES LAMPES. Lampe Gras. Possibly overtaking my love of the Jielde.

Barn beauty

Please forgive me if I share another amazing kitchen from Brit kitchen designers extraordinaire deVOL. This time from their Sebastian Cox range. Modern and rustic, artisanal and lasting. A beautiful handmade kitchen for a beautiful barn conversion in Kent.

A bright mid-century home

Bright and mid-century - a winning combination! Brio Interior Design transformed this young globe trotting couple's first house together from a dated fixer-upper to a bright, open and modern mid-century home. Located in Bellevue, WA, the 1960's house came with drab finishes and an awkward kitchen layout with two flanking dining rooms. Brio reworked the floor plan eliminating walls and extending the kitchen into one of the dining spaces. The result is an airy, expansive layout that seamlessly connects the living room, kitchen, and dining room. All new finishes were selected and combined with family heirloom pieces such as the freshly re-upholstered mid-century dining set and grandma's stunning onyx cocktail table. Paired with art and textiles from travels abroad and the husband's time in the Peace Corps, the living space feels collected yet paired down, leaving room for the couple to further leave their imprint on the home in the years to come. The neutral palette combined with warm accents like brass, wood and global textiles results in a fresh, inviting, well traveled space. Photos: Haris Kenjar

Stalking modern industrial

I'm stalking in the Sydney suburb of Balmain. Once the home of factories, warehouses, wharves and the workers employed there it has now undergone a renaissance becoming one of Sydney's most sort after suburbs. Today's home, by architects Carter Williamson, references the industrial past of the suburb but its contemporary design is all about space, style and luxury. 3 levels and a roof terrace with stunning city views, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (the ensuite is stunning) and stackable parking for 2 cars. No price on the listing but you can be sure it's multi-millions. Link here while it lasts.

A London residence by Kingston Lafferty Design

I am a huge fan of the unique, eclectic style of Dublin-based interior architecture and design firm Kingston Lafferty. This project is filled with random awesomeness, including glimpses into a dreamy kitchen. The brief was to create a cooking/dining experience that felt like a buzzing restaurant. The aim of the kitchen/dining area design is to add some excitement, fun and design flair within the existing walls of the house. Photos: Barbara Corsico
