Stalking a loft 1

I'm stalking two industrial style lofts today. The first, in a former produce store in Richmond, Melbourne is mind blowing. The open plan design over several levels, the concrete and timber, the steel and the brick are all classic industrial loft riffs. The design stars for me are the two fireplaces. Oh my! I'd be lighting fires in summer and cranking up the air conditioning to cope! OK so it  needs some personalising. It's like a cross between a bachelor pad and a half empty furniture consignment store. But the bones! Oh the bones! For when I win the lottery. Link here while it lasts.

Warehouse wonder

I love a warehouse refurb and today I have two. One a condo with history and loads of style. The other a commercial space with history and loads of style. But they have more than that in common. They are both designs by Jessica Helgerson. I can put my hand on my heart and say there is not a thing I would change. Lofty praise indeed. Oooooh did I just say that!

Moody and industrial

As much as I love bright, white spaces I am also a big fan of dark, moody and industrial spaces as well. I spotted these 2 homes on MilK magazine's site and had to share. LOVE. So unpretentious and full of character. 

Dream studio

Or should that be studio of dreams? Close to perfect don't you think? The castles I could create, the plans I could hatch draw, the clients I could bedazzle impress if I had such a space for my own. Mill Valley Studio by Jute.

 

Fish and chips inspiration

So much great design coming from commercial work. So much inspiration. A fish and chip restaurant in Ealing, London has my mind twisting and turning trying to figure out how I'm going to fit these ideas in my home. Fun and functional, young and quirky. Definitely not fusty. Definitely fab. Distressed and industrial, schoolhouse and rustic. Warm timber with bright colour. Love the typography (yes I'm a typo nerd), love the rough planks, the red and blue, the "newspaper" walls, the subway tiles, the lights, love it all. Vibrant new British design.
