Navy and gold

It is difficult to follow up a post like the last one, so here is a space featuring one of my latest favourite colour combinations - navy and gold. Via Caroline Cobbold Design. Speaking of blue, yesterday I tried out my sample pots of Farrow & Ball's Railings and Black Blue on my foyer wainscoting and Black Blue wins by a mile. I cannot wait to get the space going (we just had a floor refinisher guy over on Saturday - waiting for his quote *gulp!*).

More from Katie Martinez

Jo has featured the work of interior designer Katie Martinez a few times here but not this insanely beautiful black and white tiled bathroom. With the gold accents it is to die for, and pretty much my dream bathroom. I threw in some photos from other random projects of hers too because everything she touches is a gem.

Minale + Mann - a Victorian townhouse project

I love love LOVE this project by London-based architecture, interior and furniture design firm Minale + Mann. It has an aura of class, and elegance, but edgy and cool. This classic Victorian townhouse was designed, renovated and refurbished by M+M, in collaboration with Buster + Punch. A bespoke brass kitchen, distressed chevron timber flooring, a 20ft master suite, M+M and Buster + Punch designed lighting and furniture throughout, are all key design features, centred around a 100yr old Olive Tree in a double void space.

A West Vancouver home

I wanted to share another project by Fox Design Studio, this time it is a home located in West Vancouver. This colour palette is similar to the last with the addition of blue, which only totally fitting for a home with ocean views. Full home renovation and redecoration for an empty nester's second home. Sited on a rocky outcropping overlooking the Pacific, this large, east-coast inspired home features ocean inspired tones layered with classic luxury patterns and finishes.

A Coquitlam townhome

If this Coquitlam townhome was set up as a model home or if it was a new sale listing, it would be snapped up in an instant. Vancouver's Fox Design Studio did an incredible job here. They used the same colour palette of grey and white with black and yellow/gold accents throughout that is cohesive and flows beautifully. The bold punch of orange in the powder room is an unexpected and welcome touch. Midcentury colors, playful furniture pieces, punchy artwork and not-so-shy wall treatments give this detail heavy space a not-so-serious vibe. Think Palm Springs, but in fall-formal wear.
