Gold is the new silver

I have been trying to convince my husband for months now that brass fixtures are HOT. So far I have been unsuccessful, even after showing him the following photos of interior designer Yanic Simard's newly renovated kitchen, which is GORG! The existing cabinets were resprayed with Benjamin Moore’s 2062-20 Gentleman’s Grey which has alot of blue undertones. It's beautiful against the marble counter and backsplash. And to make this kitchen extra special, a faucet with a beautiful custom brass finish and existing cabinet pulls were electroplated to match. They even work with the stainless appliances. I'm sold!

Black and gold

In my humble opinion, there is nothing sexier than black and gold. Put them in a kitchen with a gold velvet couch, graphic tile flooring and white subway tiles and I think I'm ready to pass out from sheer ecstasy. LAWD HALF MURSEY! Designed by Jessica Helgerson (we've had a girl crush on her since we statred this blog in 2007), photos by Lincoln Barbour.

Gotta love gold

I'm obsessed with gold/brass accents. Mix it with some marble and it's pretty freaking sexy if you ask me. :) Via Michaelis Boyd

Touch of gold

For the longest time I hated gold. I would not wear gold jewelry, would never put it anywhere in my home...I though it was tacky and preferred silver/stainless steel. Over the years it has slowly grown on me and now I find myself happily wearing gold jewelry (even the pieces I got as a kid from my Italian relatives for religious events), I LOVE pendants with the underside in gold leaf, gold faucets, and I even asked for gold cutlery for Christmas. I love this Piso Barrio Gótico, Barcelona by interior designer María Lladó. It's just he right amount of gold and deep yellow that adds a decadent, slightly exotic feel.
