I was so inspired by the Kraków apartment by projekt i that I had to share another from their portfolio. A familiar palette of black and white is used in the public areas while a rich deep blue is the highlight of the bedroom in this stylish 50 m² apartment near the Wawalem Castle.
When you start with a bright pink door with black trim and tumbling block tile it should be called the OHHHHHHHHH Residence. Add some bright yellow and royal blue inside.... OHHHHHHHHH YESSSSS!! Designed by Melbourne-based interior architecture firm Studio Tate.
A loft renovation in Stockholm is stylish, relaxed and timeless, a bit like the inspiration pictures that informed the project - a brown cashmere coat, a pair of sand-colored sneakers and a plaza in Rome.
"When it was our turn to renew the the 200 square meter apartment our first step was to simplify everything we felt was too much, in terms of dimensions and materials. The task was to create a relaxed, soft environment and the main interior feature is a dark, low-lying base line that runs like a unifying horizon through the whole apartment. All walls and ceilings are painted in apricot pink and sandy beige tones which gives a soft, hazy atmosphere, creating a dynamic but gentle contrast to the blue-gray base. Nothing in the apartment is white!!"

Voluptuous. It's the only word I can think of to describe this room. The punctuation of the rug, the curve of blue velvet disguised as a sofa, the mid century chairs and brutalist sconces all toy with the 19th century bones of the room, the ceiling, the gilded plaster, the wrought iron. And to top it all off a ridiculously large and "casually" arranged vase of elephant ears in a vase. It seems we have lost our design hearts on the blog to all things French like these fabulous rooms by interior designer Olivier Gampel of Les Nouveaux Décorateurs. Le "sigh".
