California coastal

California coastal style in a New England home by Kristina Crestin Design. I am not typically a big fan of this style or the colour blue but I am totally smitten with how well put together this living room. I never would have thought to pair aqua blue, olive green and orange/tan together but it's gorgeous - and the art and patterned pillows and rug bring it all together. The bathroom is also pretty fab - modern yet really warm with the addition of golden-toned wood.

Cutting edge classic

Gutting this Sydney beachside house back to structural columns and beams Madeleine Blanchfield Architects then set about creating, in their words, "a home that was whimsical, calm, inspiring, slightly quirky and deeply personal." It's big and bold yet intimate and informal, a luxurious take on the beach living. A cutting edge home that will become a classic.

I want

I'm like a spoilt child. If I see something I like then I want what I see. Please mummy can I have a beach hut right on the beach? Just meters from the water? Pleeeeeeaaaase. Except I'd want sand not shingle but you can't have it all. Beach House by Studiomama.

A white beach house

We have featured many beach houses here on the blog over the years, and many of them take the nautical theme a tad too far. But not this one! I absolutely adore this Florida home. With different shades of white/off-white and not a speck of blue in sight, this is elegant yet earthy and minimalist. No fuss decor with lots of natural fabrics make this so effortless and soothing. I love that aside from a couple of throw blankets there are no patterns, making this so easy on the eye. By Tennessee-based interior designer Rozanne Jackson.
