Rachael's former home

Rachael sent me an email the other day with photos of her home in Paddington, Sydney that she recently sold (??!!??!!). It is such an incredible transformation - I don't know how anyone can go through such an extensive renovation. And take note of her living/dining room wall colour, which she says is her favourite (and she'll have to leave the colour in the comments as it wasn't included in her email). Luckily, she sent some before photos as well which show the extent of this renovation. She's in the process of renovating another home and promises to send photos. I'll hold her to that, because if it's anything like this...

She knows I am a sucker for animals photos so she included one of herself and Chilli the labradoodle which I had to post as well. :)

Gloss Creative

When the A-list party in Australia it's Gloss Creative setting the stage. Three-dimensional design is an area we haven't featured a lot of ... until now. Event staging is huge and Gloss Creative is the biggest and baddest of the bunch. Hop over to their website and dream of making the guest list to the swankiest private parties, Fashion Week and every Australian's pinnacle of social climbing, the corporate marquees at the Melbourne Cup (that's a horse race to those scratching their heads). Here are some of their recent Melbourne Cup party tents. Yes tents. SWOON! Pass me a champagne.

Casey Brown

Caroline Casey and Robert Brown of Australian architectural studio Casey Brown build in response to the site and climate their structures inhabit. Tree houses rise from the steep topography and copper and glass pavilions strain to fly away from their sandstone anchors. A sense of place is paramount in their work. Beautiful unpretentious buildings, their structures exposed, blend with the environment and celebrate their stunning surroundings.

Real estate stalking

I thought I'd share 2 houses currently for sale in my home town of Brisbane. I’ve been real estate stalking again. The houses are completely different in style but both have wonderful ideas to steal. Colour is the key in both as well as a calm uncluttered feel (even if one is styled in the hoarder's favourite fashion, shabby chic). A well edited room is always calming. The first house is a renovated bungalow with loads of charm. That chocolate wall is to die for. The second is a new build with pops of colour punching through all the white.

Phorm

Steven Stewart and Ian Wrightson are co-directors of PHORM Interiors, an interior design firm located in Red Hill, Brisbane. With studio out front, the pair's home behind the shop is cool, funky and pulsing with a modern vibe in an old colonial building. I could easily have titled this "I want to live here". Love their portfolio and equally love their blog where they showcase their work, their fav design pieces and fabulous finds. Design is alive and blossoming in Brisbane and PHORM is at the forefront.
