A ceramicist and an artist

The new issue of Canadian House & Home magazine had an article about Vancouver ceramicist Laura McKibbon. I was captivated by the photos of her work and went looking for more eye candy on her website and was even more taken. I adore the shapes of the dishes and the beautiful colours, not to mention the stunning screen-printed images.

She has also collaborated with artists for some images, including Jon Izen, a Winnipeg artist, on "headphone dude" below.

I thought headphone dude was so cute I just had to go poking around Jon's website and found the following adorable drawings.

Breckinridge Design

Breck Woolsey is a name to watch. This image is so beautiful and tantalising and the only one on his website so far. There is a promise of more. Bookmark it and wait, patiently if you can. While you wait fall in love with his art. "Art doesn't have to match the interior, but it needs to have a dialogue with it." I'd love to eavesdrop on the conversations these pieces would have with the rooms he designs.

How much does this guy love chairs???

I found these photos a couple of years ago when I was searching for ideas for a tattoo as a tribute to my grandmother. I've been thinking about getting another tattoo...and these tattoos by Nick Baxter suddenly popped into my head (although I would not get chairs tattooed on me - too weird). These are so well done it's incredible. The proud owner of these tattoos is a furniture design major. Go figure.

Fred Qora & Nanoo Shaï have an amazing online store where they sell retro FABULOUS canvases and posters. I've had my eye on these for quite some time and am happy they emailed with some cool photos.
