Jenn Ski

Jenn Ski sent us an email introducing her new online shop. She is an award-winning graphic designer and artist, with a passion for modern and mid-20th century art and design. Her work is beautifully delicate, is incredibly sophisticated but with a touch of whimsy. Love the mid-century vibe. So cool! Check out her website for her original pieces and really affordable giclée prints which come matted and ready for framing. Don't miss the introductory offer on the prints until June 22nd and keep an eye out as she will soon be adding stationary and pillows to the range. Thanks for sharing Jenn.

Here kitty kitty kitty

I adore this photo and I'm sure most of you can guess why. I've been wanting for AGES to blow up a photo of my cats. Actually, I don't think I have them all in one photo (except for the one where I was about to feed them chicken and I hopped up on the kitchen counter and snapped one of them all standing around wondering why I had a camera in my hand instead of a hunk of chicken). So if you have a beloved pet and a big blank wall, here's your opportunity to create your own piece of art.

J Pritchard Design

Texan Jennifer Pritchard creates these eerily organic porcelain wall installations and tiles. The richness of the glaze, the texture, the pattern all lure you into a closer look. Lose yourself in the convolutions of her crazy repetitive over and over art.

Allyson Mitchell

Allyson Mitchell, a Torontonian, is a maximalist artist, writer, performer, filmmaker and teacher. She is one busy chick: "I am a fat activist. I began the performance/education group 'Pretty Porky and Pissed Off' in 1997. I am also a queer activist and I have concocted the term 'Deep Lez' for a movement that works to maintain the radical in lesbian. I am completing my PhD dissertation about fat women power and space at York University in Toronto Canada where I teach feminist activism and popular culture. I lecture about lesbian graffiti, 3rd wave feminism and fat activism. As well, I conduct film and video workshops, do artist talks, studio visits and body image discussions." WHOA. Here are some photos of her fun and quirky installations and art. The first 3 photos are of a room she designed for the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto.

Stina Persson

Kim and I received an invitation to Stina Persson's New York show. Unfortunately we won't be able to attend .... we really want to but distance is too great. If you're in NY don't miss it. Her work is amazing. Oh and let us know how fabulous it is.

Kim here - I love Stina's work so much I just had to add some photos of some of my favourites.
