Flying Duck

Craig of Flying Duck, based in Manchester, wrote to tell us about their wonderful creations of batik wall art, cushions and handbags. The patterns and colours are so vibrant and fun, with an organic feel. Very cool. Thanks for writing Craig!

A Little Hut

I was just perusing Flickr when I noticed some totally adorable photos of art posted by one of my contacts. Patricia Zapata of A Little Hut makes the most precious hand-cut paper illustrations. They are available on her website, so do go check it out.

Little Paper Planes

Kelly of Little Paper Planes wrote to tell me about the great art she sells at her online shop. She had just found Desire to Inspire today, and funny thing is I had just visited her online store this morning too. I think we might both have Grace of Design Sponge to thank for this coincidence. She posted a bloggers' guide to online shopping this morning and Jo and I were happy to be a part of it. (Kelly's store was part of another blogger's list). So...back to Kelly. I'm including some of my favourite artwork available at her store below, but there's also clothing, accessories, papergoods, jewelry and other fab items to check out. Thanks Kelly for distracting me from my Monday chores (I hate doing laundry).

Stephanie Nance's monthly gallery sale

Stephanie emailed this evening to tell me about her paintings and the sale she's having this Friday. Her work is adorable and I particularly love her trailer paintings (my mom would too - she's been hunting for a cute round trailer to put in her backyard for ages). Here is her press release:

This Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10am (Central), Stephanie Nance will host her monthly Online Gallery Sale featuring little original paintings via her website www.stephanienancestudio.com. The affordable and fresh artwork is perfect for starting or continuing a collection and make fantastic gifts as well. All work is 6" square, painted on 1/2" thick MDF and is ready to hang complete with a sawtooth and bumpers on the back to appear as if floating from the wall; the sides are painted white. All work is signed and dated.

Stephanie's art has been featured in HOME Magazine and the book House Transformed (by M.Schoenherr, L. Hunter, and W. Jordan) along with regional publications. Her work is becoming highly collected and interior designers enjoy working with the delightful artist.

Her website consists of a growing portfolio and her blog of (almost) daily musings is entertaining. Her work is alluring, lively, & modern yet cozy. Please join us.
