A rustic and modern bathroom

Magda of Euro Style Interior Design based in Chicago sent along some photos of a bathroom design she recently completed and it is stunning! Such incredible, warm textures. The scoop: My clients wanted to create a bathroom where they can relax after long work hours. Where they can spend time together and enjoy soaking tub time. This design includes rustic and modern elements mixed together, what brings interest to this bathroom. Focal wall of the bathroom is the definitely free standing tub with beautiful wood tiles behind. Bathroom vanity is custom made and designed in collaboration with the client to accomodate their needs.

Sheep + Stone - Primrose house

I am reeeally loving the vibe of this Los Angeles home designed by Brooklyn-based Sheep + Stone. A bit New York funky, a bit vintage mid-century with a dark, neutral colour palette this place is just really cool and classically modern. The windows in this house are a dream. Makes me want to paint mine black. (Photos: Nicole Franzen)

Stalking

It's a cold, wet day and I'm chained to my computer. What's a girl to do? Why surreptitiously real estate stalk that's what. How about a warehouse apartment in inner city Sydney, in über cool Darlinghurst? What I like about this space is that it's old school warehouse, a little rough around the edges, not renovated to death to look like a display home. Open plan, few walls. So while I'm sitting here chained to my computer I'm daydreaming of how I'd configure the space if I owned it. Link here while it lasts.

Brassica Restaurant & Mercantile

A follower of our blog named Louise wrote us about a restaurant and shop she has opened in Dorset, U.K. and kindly sent along lots of photos. I love this! I can totally see myself spending a Sunday afternoon shopping and having a bit of wine and a snack here.

Brassica Restaurant & Mercantile is an independent hospitality and retail brand located in the heart of Hardy Country - West Dorset. The restaurant offers an outstanding experience of delicious food, wine and service in a stylish environment. The menu is produce-led using seasonal food grown, raised, caught or collected in Dorset and the South West. The modern European dishes change daily. The menu has been designed to encourage an informal way of eating: people can share main courses, order a selection of starters or just pop in for a glass of wine and a plate of charcuterie.

Mercantile is the retail arm of Brassica offering a bespoke range of goods that focus on the 'art of entertaining' and convivial gatherings. The shop next door and online sells a carefully curated number of lifestyle items selected from around the globe and which reflect the aesthetic used in the interior of the restaurant. The shop offers a mix of linens, candles, tableware, glassware and cookware, many of which are used in the actual restaurant. Specialist food and fine wine is available alongside books, furniture, textiles, homewares and a number of vintage items. (OMG I want this velvet bedspread!)

Working on a Saturday

I sound a bit like a bit broken record as week after week I whinge and whine about heading off to work on a weekend. But imagine if you worked for perfumer Jo Malone ... in her global headquarters in a central London Regency townhouse ... designed by Rose Uniacke. Sigh. I think I would die from a sensory overdose of beauty.
