In far off Zanzibar ...

Paradise on a crescent beach of sherbet white sand. Domed pavilions straddle the ridge. Views filled with dreams of the spice routes. Exotic, exclusive, remote and relaxing. The name of this slice of heaven? Kilindi. Perhaps it's Swahili for perfect .........

OMG, I'm in love! I've been to Zanzibar twice, absolutely gorgeous place!

Beautiful! Be sure to go there and enjoy it. Just don't go outside the nice, walled compounds that house the little illusion you're living in. You might have to deal with some poor African people. You're rich, you're above that!

I've been to Zanzibar (backpacking) and it's fantastic. But the rich snooty people in their little compounds like this. Ugh. I guess it's just how life is.

Benn there once a while ago. Of course, these photos are of a particularly nice area of the island. There is a wide spectrum of niceness however; plenty of poverty, and plenty of beaches full of garbage washed ashore. However, it's still an unbelievable place. Locals are friendly, and will show you an awesome time.

this place is (sigh). makes one think that fantasies and dreams are real, and they're out there.

Oh this is just dreamy! The colors are stunning.

I'm officially crying. I spent all my childhood in Kenya and visited Zanzibar in high school. While some Canadians were at the cottage, I spent my holidays on the Indian Ocean. Sigh! (as I attempt to battle another rainy winter in the warmest part of Canada.)
This is just GORGEOUS!!! Highly recommend travelling to the area - everyone needs to see the reality of the other side of the hemisphere....not shown in these pics. It's a generous, harsh, and friendly reality.

Shut up Tim you stupid holier-than-thou twat. I'd much rather spend my time in this place than outside the compound, which is what it is there for, not backpacking with some dopey egotistical dick like you who thinks they are better people because they walked among the poor.

Wow wow wow! Makes me think that maybe I should have given to Zanzibar a second thought for our honeymoon and it is only 4 hour flight. Oh well...will have to have a 2nd one.

That's paradise! Heaven! What a dream! I have to say, I've never seen anything more stunning and I have seen quite a lot of this world already, but this is unique. Photos are also doing the trick.

Oh my, these images are gorgeous, I really want a vacation now.

I'm lost for words and could end up babbling like my 2 yr. old sweetie-girl "That-that-that". I've never wanted a holiday soooooo much !
