In far off Zanzibar ...
Paradise on a crescent beach of sherbet white sand. Domed pavilions straddle the ridge. Views filled with dreams of the spice routes. Exotic, exclusive, remote and relaxing. The name of this slice of heaven? Kilindi. Perhaps it's Swahili for perfect .........

This is wonderful, such a dreamy place.
that's awesome !!! M gonna rush to book a ticket 2 Zanzibar
The place is certainly beatiful, however East Africa as a destination has so much more to offer. I invite you to visit www.oltuakailodge.com just to mention one destination in Kenya. That way you appreciate the richness of the continent.
This kind of reminds me of a tropical version of The Great Gatsby's mansion
Stunning. My beach house in Thailand isn't quite that polished, but it certainly doesn't suck. I bet it is considerably cheaper too!!!!
Wow! Is this place real? I wish I was there!
This is heaven on earth. Definitely one of the most beautiful places for honeymoon. :)
This is simply amazing! Definitely on my list a places to go!
thats absolutely right. once u get a real job, u might be able to afford to actually travel. until then, stay at the trainstations, where we dont have to see you.
seriously, this is on earth?! woah!
Is this where they film Cialis commercials?
This is seriously incredible! If a place can look exactly like paradise, these pictures are definitely it. If you want to read up on Zanzibar, check out this in-depth travel story from GoNOMAD.com: http://www.gonomad.com/destinations/0101/pitcher_zanzibarmineguide.html
This is absolutely beautiful. Adding to the list of places I must see before I die! Thank you for sharing!
I now want to go on Zanzibar. What gorgeous images!!
Wow, Zanzibar looks incredible. I hope to get the opportunity to travel there one of these days.
"Beautiful! Be sure to go there and enjoy it. Just don't go outside the nice, walled compounds that house the little illusion you're living in. You might have to deal with some poor African people. You're rich, you're above that!
I've been to Zanzibar (backpacking) and it's fantastic. But the rich snooty people in their little compounds like this. Ugh. I guess it's just how life is."</I>
Tim, I know your comments probably mean well, but are you seriously trying to tell me that you think because you "backpacked" through a poor country that means you have more of a grip on reality then people who have money? I mean seriously how could you possibly think that there is a link between someones financial state and the grip they have on the issues in the "real world"?
I find it amazing how students and backpackers will instantly judge a person by the size of their bank account yet they are always the first people to kick up a big fuss when someone judges them......do you even have the slightest idea what it takes to EARN the kind of money that it would take to buy a place like this? how hard you have to work to get here? do you think the money just appears in their savings account each week?
I have been on both sides of the fence and for several years I didn't have a dollar to my name and had to rely on peoples generosity several times just to live day to day. However since that time I have worked so goddam hard to build up to what I have today and it angers me when I see comments like yours that ASSUME that all "rich" people were simply born that way or were just given the money.
So tell me Tim, what are you doing to help these people? how did you change their lives while you were backpacking?? My guess NOTHING, I bet you probably enjoyed your time then then moved on to the next party in the next country (and YES that is based on my experience as a backpacker!) which is fine if that is what you want to do, but don't walk around judging people just because they may appear to have a bit more cash then you do....chances are that they could be making a bigger contribution then you ever will and are probably a lot more active in charity then you think!
So maybe its time for you to stop judging people, stop backpacking and actually get a job so you cant learn what hard work really is....!
HOW MUCH WOULD SOMETHING LIKE THIS COST FOR A WEEK...OR SO?
Remind me again why I live on the continent?
I traveled to S Africa some years ago in 1987 and stayed several weeks. Maseru, Lesotho and Kruger National Park were a few really beautiful places as well as the coast at Durban. Landscape and wild life -especially at Kruger Nat'l park were awesome. I hated returning north to Berlin and went back again, and also Canary Islands. The people were wonderful in S Africa and although aparteid was still in effect then. After leaving four years in then West Berlin, I came back later to JoBerg to visit.
I may yet get to the location above, but love mixing and being around the people more than anything!
Wow! Lovely!!! but the question is does this place exist? or it's just dreamy?
Great photos. i was looking to see more photos of other areas in Zanzibar.
thanks for sharing! This is now on my "MUST VISIT" list!
